Central dogma of molecular biology
DNA tells you how to make RNA which tells you how to make Proteins.
Each half of the DNA ladder can be reproduced from the other half. They are a mirror image of one another.
mRNA represents a particular gene
mRNA through translation makes a protein
a protein is a chain of amino acids
about half of the amino acids cannot be constructed and must be consumed through food
amino acids are the building blocks of proteins
amino acids can chain together
every amino acid maps to a sequence of three base pairs in the RNA
every triple in the RNA defines what amino acid goes next in the protein
