Really good anniversary edition of Law in Action where the both the audience and the panel really got into the intellectual detail of some of the problems in modern society and legislation.

The segment on human rights was fascinating.

Really interesting episode of the Bottom Line tonight about [founders who return to their companies](http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04jm36y). Evan Davis as ever is friendly but sharp in his questions. Particularly good was whether the rejoining founders were simply better at choosing where in the economical cycle they sold and bought their businesses.

One of the interesting observations is that the founders felt they had an instinct for their business and therefore were willing to take risks that professional managers weren't. A classic example of the agent problem.

I was also intrigued to discover that Ugg was originally a generic name for sheepskin boots and was only recently registered as a trademark (which involved buying up existing registrations). That came from [Celtic and Co.](http://www.celticandco.co.uk/) whose factory is based in Newquay.
