Today I was playing around with graphically representing the basic rules of Ancient Greek accentuation. Here's what I came up with:

In other words, the accent can be on any of the last three morae but if the ultima is short AND penult long (i.e. the second block of three in the diagram above), then the second-to-last mora is ignored.
