iOS 7 Impressions

I didn't expect to still see the old keyboard but I guess it still crops up in some apps that haven't updated. Today I saw it in the Trello app.

So I am already tired of the unlock animation. I wonder if I can turn it off. It was snazzy the first couple of times but now it just feels slow.

Safari no longer displays the contents of <title> anywhere except when viewing multiple tabs.

You can no longer tweet or update Facebook status from the notification center. The only "native" method to do this is now through Siri, which is unfortunate.

You can also tweet from Safari if your intent is to post a link to the current URI.

The new compass app is actually my favourite. Not that I ever used the old one.

Unsurprisingly, icons for websites saved to the home screen no longer have the gloss effect applied.

Happy to report that iBooks is as skeuomorphic as ever.

iBooks, iTunes U, Find Friends, Trailers — all Apple apps whose icons don't yet appear to have been updated.

Non-flat app icons really stand out (badly).

Surprised to see texture in Notes and Reminders.

Often feels like I'm reading a document, not looking at an application UI.
